Diabetes is more likely to die from a heart attack

Abstract: In this study, researchers at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom collected medical data from nearly 280,000 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and 420,000 patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction between 2003 and 2013. Analyzed.
A new study shows that people with diabetes have a higher risk of heart disease, and in heart attacks, they are at higher risk of death than those without diabetes.
Diabetes is more likely to die from a heart attack
The study found that people with diabetes had a 50% higher risk of heart attack than those without diabetes.

In this study, researchers at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom collected medical data from nearly 280,000 patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction and 420,000 patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction between 2003 and 2013. analysis.

The results showed that 35.8% of people with diabetes died of a heart attack, compared with 25.3% of heart disease patients without diabetes.

After controlling for variables in age, gender, other diseases, and heart disease treatment, the researchers found that diabetic patients were 56% more likely to die from ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (including total coronary artery occlusion) than non-diabetic patients. Patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (or partial coronary artery obstruction) with diabetes had a 39% higher mortality rate than non-diabetic patients.
